Instant Pot Homemade Applesauce

This homemade applesauce recipe is made in the Instant Pot with just 4 ingredients simple ingredients and is ready in less than 15 minutes. It makes a great snack, side dish, or healthy dessert!

Ingredients

  • 9 medium apples a mix of Granny Smith, Honey Crisp, and Pink Lady is my favorite
  • ¾ cup apple juice apple cider, or water
  • 2 Tablespoons granulated sugar optional
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon optional

Instructions

  • Peel and quarter apples, removing the seeds and cores.
  • Add juice (or your preferred liquid) to the instant pot along with the apples and toss to combine.
  • Secure the lid in place and cook on high pressure for 4 minutes.
  • Allow the Instant Pot to do a natural release for 5 minutes, then cover the steam valve with a towel and do a controlled quick release.
  • Mash the apples with a potato masher for chunkier applesauce or blend in a blender with the lid set askew so the steam can vent.
  • Taste, then stir in sugar and cinnamon, as needed.

Notes

NOTE: This applesauce can be transferred to airtight containers and frozen for up to 2 months. Let thaw in the freezer overnight before enjoying.
