Ingredients

  • 4-5 scoops vanilla ice cream (about 2 cups)
  • 2 ½ cups sliced peaches (about 3 large peaches)
  • ¼ cup milk
  • Whipped cream, for serving (optional)

Instructions

  • Roughly chopping the peaches helps them blend more easily. If you don't want to bother peeling the peaches, you can probably get away with it but you might have little bits of peach peel that don't blend entirely.
  • Add 4-5 large scoops of your favorite vanilla ice cream to a large blender, along with the sliced peaches.
  • I like to blend the milkshake for just a few seconds, then stop the blender and use a plunger tool that came with my Vitamix or a spatula to push the fruit and ice cream down into the blades before adding the milk in case I feel like I don't need it. Usually the mixture is too thick at first without a little help of a plunger to push the ingredients down into the blades to get things started. The longer you blend the milkshake, the frothier and runnier it will be, so I tend to blend it as little as possible.
  • Once the peach milkshake reaches a consistency you like, pour it into tall serving glasses and garnish with whipped cream and a slice of fresh peach or some mint leaves.

Notes

  • Frozen peaches: You may use frozen peaches but the milkshake will be much thicker and you may need more milk to get the right consistency.
  • Thick peach milkshake: If you prefer a thick peach milkshake, either add less milk (or none if your peaches are juicy), or use frozen peaches.
  • Peach milkshakes you can drink through a straw - If you prefer a thinner milkshake, simply add more milk or blend the milkshake a little longer for a runnier consistency that is easy to suck up through a straw.
