6 ounces tomato paste, ¼ cup honey or maple syrup, ½ cup apple cider vinegar, ¼ cup water, ¾ teaspoon salt, ½ teaspoon onion powder, ¼ teaspoon garlic powder, ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, ⅛ teaspoon ground nutmeg
Place the saucepan on the stovetop over medium/high heat until it begins to boil, stirring constantly. Reduce the heat immediately to medium and allow the ketchup to simmer for 10 minutes, still stirring constantly.
Remove the ketchup from the heat and allow it to cool for a few minutes. Pour the ketchup into a food processor or blender and puree for about 1 minute until very smooth.
Pour the ketchup into a glass jar or bottle. Use it immediately or store any leftovers in the refrigerator for up to three weeks.
