Cover and cook on LOW heat for 6-8 hours or on HIGH for 4 hours until tender.
Storage & Make Ahead
- Store: Let the ribs cool, then keep them in a sealed container in the fridge for up to 4 days, with a spoonful of the sauce over the top so they stay moist.
- Freeze: Pack the cooled ribs and sauce into a freezer bag or container, press out the air, and freeze for up to 3 months. Let them thaw in the fridge for a night before reheating.
- Reheat: Warm the ribs in a covered baking dish in a 300°F oven for 20 to 30 minutes until hot all the way through, adding a splash of extra sauce if they look dry. The microwave works too, in short bursts.
- Make Ahead: Put the raw ribs, onion, brown sugar, seasonings, and BBQ sauce in a freezer bag and freeze it flat. When you’re ready to cook, defrost the bag in the fridge overnight, pour everything into the slow cooker, and cook as directed.
