- 1¾ cup all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup packed light brown sugar
- ½ cup red & green holiday M&Ms
- ½ cup semisweet chocolate chips
To assemble
- ½ cup (1 stick) softened butter
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
How to layer:
In a small bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Pour this mixture into the bottom of your clean jar and tap gently to level it out.

Add the white sugar as the next layer, then the brown sugar.

Carefully layer in the chocolate chips, followed by the M&Ms.

Seal the jar tightly and decorate with a ribbon and a tag.
To bake:
Preheat oven to 350°F
In a large bowl, beat together the butter, egg, and vanilla.
½ cup (1 stick) softened butter, 1 egg, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Add the contents of the jar and stir until combined.
Drop rounded spoonfuls onto a baking sheet.
Bake 8–10 minutes or until edges are golden. Cool & enjoy!
