Puerto Rico

These recipes showcase just some of the foods that Puerto Rico is famous for. The “Island of Enchantment” is not a state but actually an unincorporated territory of the United States.

When it comes to food, Puerto Rico is known for Piña Coladas (mine are non-alcoholic so the whole family can enjoy) and Fried Green Plantains. Also popular are rellenos de papa, empanadillas, mofongo, pernil, delicious platanos maduros, flan, and arroz con gandules, which is white rice cooked with pigeon peas, olives, capers, tomato sauce, seasoning, and sofrito.
