Fun and fruity, a Virgin Strawberry Daiquiri is an easy, non-alcoholic frozen drink that is super refreshing and great for sipping on long, hot summer evenings or afternoons! This family friendly mocktail version means that everyone can enjoy!
We are a non-alcoholic household but that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy fun, fabulous drinks that are family friendly! Some of our other favorites are Shirley Temples and Raspberry Peach Italian Cream Sodas!
My first high school job was as a server at a Mexican restaurant and cantina. On my breaks, the bartender would whip up a virgin strawberry daiquiri for me almost every shift to enjoy in the back with all the chips and salsa I wanted. It was the best job and I loved it!
A classic strawberry daiquiri is made with rum, but it’s super easy to make a non-alcoholic version. It’s very fruit forward with a touch of citrus from the fresh squeezed lime juice.
You can easily customize your daiquiri to make it just how you like it by adding more simple syrup if you prefer it sweeter. I like to make ours fairly thick and slushy so they don’t melt too fast. The secret it to use a mix of both fresh and frozen strawberries for the best flavor and texture, rather than watering it down with too much ice.
Keep in mind that the longer you blend the strawberries, the runnier the drink will be. Daiquiris are intended to be fairly thick, almost but not quite as thick as a smoothie.
What You’ll Need
- Strawberries: Using frozen strawberries lets you thicken this frozen drink without ice, for the most potent strawberry flavor. But fresh strawberries give extra juiciness and flavor, so a mix of the two is best.
- Limes: Use juicy limes and try rolling them on the counter for a second before slicing in half and juicing them. Fresh lime juice will give much better flavor than the bottled kind.
- Simple syrup: This is so easy to make with just sugar and water and perfect for sweetening your daiquiris without the grittiness that you get from just adding sugar.
- Lemon lime soda: 7up or Sprite provides a nice backdrop and is great for thinning out your daiquiri as needed without altering the strawberry flavor.
How to Make Virgin Strawberry Daiquiri
- Make the simple syrup: Start by combining sugar and water in a small saucepan and heat over medium to medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, just until the sugar has dissolved. Remove from the heat and cool completely. This can be done well in advance and stored in the fridge for at least a few weeks, so it’s a great idea to double or triple the batch so you have some on hand for whenever you need it.
- Blend: Combine strawberries, simple syrup, lime juice, and soda in a high-speed blender. Blend until smooth. You will need to stop and scrape down sides or tamp the frozen strawberries down into the blender blades at the bottom a couple of times to make sure everything gets blended all the way. Taste and adjust by adding more simple syrup (if you want it sweeter) or more lime juice (if you want it more tart). Pour into glasses and garnish with a slice of lime and a strawberry to serve.
Can I use other fruit?
If you want a different flavor daiquiri than strawberry, just swap out the strawberries for a different fruit. Peaches, blueberries, or mangos would be delicious. So would raspberries or blackberries, although you will want to puree and strain out the seeds first.
Can these be made ahead?
If you are having a party and want to serve these virgin strawberry daiquiris, you can make multiple batches ahead of time and store them in a freezer-safe container in the freezer for an hour or so. Let them sit out for a bit to soften up, about 30 minutes or so, and stir until slushy and pourable.
You can even keep the blended strawberry daiquiris in the fridge for about an hour and they will stay pretty slushy, although they will melt faster once you take them out to serve.
Can I use this to make a Miami Vice?
You sure can! This virgin strawberry daiquiri is ½ of a Miami Vice, which is a combination of strawberry daiquiri and pina colada. Just whip up a batch of our virgin pina coladas and pour both the daiquiri and pina colada into the same cup at the same time for a beautifully swirled effect!

Virgin Strawberry Daiquiris
Ingredients
Simple Syrup
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup water
Daiquiris
- 4 cups frozen strawberries
- 1 cup fresh strawberries washed and hulled
- ½ to 3/4 cup fresh lime juice to taste
- 1 cup 7up or Sprite
Instructions
Simple Syrup
- Heat the sugar and water in a small saucepan and heat over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar has dissolved, about 5 minutes. Remove from the heat and cool completely. This can be done quickly by setting the saucepan in a larger bowl partially filled with ice. The simple syrup can be made in advance and stored in the fridge for at least a few weeks.
Make the Daiquiris
- Combine strawberries, lime juice, and soda in a high-speed blender. Add ¾ cup of the simple syrup to start. Blend until smooth. You will need to stop and scrape down sides or tamp the frozen strawberries down into the blender blades at the bottom a couple of times to make sure everything gets blended all the way.
- Taste and adjust by adding more simple syrup (if you want it sweeter) or more lime juice (if you want it more tart). Pour into glasses and garnish with a slice of lime and a strawberry to serve.
Absolutely delicious.. just like the ones served on the cruise ships. My granddaughter loves these. Thank you
I’m so glad that they were a hit!
Made it with blueberries instead of strawberries and it’s absolutely delicious!
Christ almighty. Would it hurt to type out how much of each in an easy to see area?
Hi! Are you talking about the recipe card with the ingredients and measurements all typed out or are you looking somewhere else? At the top under the recipe title there is a button that says “jump to recipe”. It will take you straight to the recipe. I will always post the recipe ingredients and measurements. If it also works, printing the recipe is helpful for some people.
