Slutty Brownies are an over-the-top triple decker mashup of chocolate chip cookie dough, double stuff Oreos, and fudgy brownies all in one dessert! This is one dessert that is hard to resist. You might feel guilty about it afterwards, but you can’t help wanting more.

I cringe every time I call these 3-layer cookie/brownie/oreo bars “slutty brownies”. As a food writer, a piece of me dies describing these as “so bad, but so good” or making proclamations about how you might feel for indulging in one and still wanting to go back for more.
Whoever named these Pinterest-popular bars knew what they were doing because they have been everywhere on the internet for years now, although I believe it was the blog Kevin & Amanda that first came up with the original slutty brownies recipe. The salaciously titillating moniker is certainly more memorable and easier to share than “Brownie Oreo Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars”.
Slutty Brownies are one of those crazy brownie recipes that you can’t help but love. Every time I make and take these some place, they get rave reviews. I mean, brownies with a layer of cookie dough on the bottom and Oreo cookies in the middle are really a dessert lover’s dream and a chocolate paradise. Especially when topped with a scoop of ice cream and doused in chocolate sauce or hot fudge.
This easy slutty brownie recipe is made from scratch rather than using a boxed brownie mix and refrigerated cookie dough. You can’t compete with homemade and these slutty brownies deserve the best ingredients! I think you’ll notice a difference.
How to make slutty brownies
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and create a parchment paper sling to line the bottom of a 9×9-inch square baking pan.
- In a large bowl, beat the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar for 2 minutes until light. Add the egg and vanilla, mixing well and scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed.
- Add in the flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix until combined, then stir in the chocolate chips. Press the cookie into the bottom of the prepared pan. Be sure to press it all of the way to the edges of the pan using a spatula or your fingers.
- Arrange the Oreos on top of the cookie dough in a single layer. You may need to break some in half to fill significant gaps.
- In another bowl, whisk together the melted butter, sugar, and cocoa powder. Add in the eggs, vanilla, and salt, whisking until combined.
- Add the flour to the chocolate mixture, stirring just until incorporated, then set aside.
- Carefully spread the brownie batter over the top of the Oreo layer, spreading it all of the way to the edges of the pan.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick can be inserted into the center and come out clean with just a few crumbs.
- Cool completely (at least 2 hours) before removing the slutty brownies from the pan. Then cut into squares and serve.
Can I use double stuff oreos?
YES! Double Stuff Oreos are amazing in these brownies and really help to give that creamy flavor from the filling, making every bite much more enjoyable. I definitely recommend using double stuff over regular Oreos for this recipe.
Can I use any type of oreo?
While these slutty brownies are typically made with classic Oreos, you can use any variety you want. Imagine the Peanut Butter Pie Oreos, Golden Oreos, or my personal favorite – Mint Oreos – in this dessert! Yum!
How should I store slutty brownies?
Keep the cooled brownies at room temperature, in the fridge or even in the freezer. Place your brownies in an airtight container at room temp for up to 3 days, in the fridge for up to 5 days, or in the freezer for up to 6 months.
Is there anything that could make slutty brownies even better?
These brownies are already pretty outrageous and making them from-scratch makes them better than most of the other version I have tried. But you could take them to a whole new level of indulgence by adding frosting on top or pressing pretzels into the top of the brownie layer.
